Southwest Rapid Rewards Travel Vouchers

We have been using our Southwest Visa Rapid Rewards Visa for years and we just earned our last free round-trip flight anywhere that Southwest flies. We would like to continue using the card, but the nearest airport that has Southwest service is three hours away – not bad when it was just my wife and I, but now that we have added three more members to the family, it just doesn’t work. We have switched to the Freedom Card. We have gotten our money’s worth out of Southwest though – once we flew four people to the west coast and back for $230 -total! Here’s how it happened:

Me – Free flight from Southwest Rapid Rewards

Wife – $200 round trip on SW

Child – under 24 months – $15 fee

Child – under 24 months – $15 fee

I wouldn’t necessarily recommend two the two children under 24 months. . .but it can save you cash when travelling.

Anyway, we just earned our final RR voucher and instead of using it, I put it up for sale on Ebay. The vouchers there almost always go for more than $200, sometimes as high as $325! Not a bad return for using a credit card. If you apply for the Southwest Visa through this link, you will earn 8 flight credits, good for half a round-trip after your first purchase.

If Southwest is not an option for you, you might want to choose an airline card that works for you from this list. -rocketc
