Rats! Rats! Rats!
October 8th, 2007 | by rocketc |I just got a phone call from the company through which we have our car loan to tell us that our payment was due. This particular loan comes with a payment booklet and there are no email or snail mail reminders to make the payment, so it just slipped my mind. I have a reminder on my phone, but I think it went off in a meeting and I just turned the alarm off and didn’t think about it again.
I was able to pay it immediately with direct debit, but it cost an extra $24. It is our first late payment on any bill for over 3 years. Hopefully it won’t hurt our credit too much.
