Free Shredder with Purchase

It is important to have a paper shredder around the house these days. Everyone knows that identity theft is a big problem and sometimes the easiest way to steal an identity is by using the papers that you throw away. I would recommend a heavier-duty shredder if you can afford it, but until then, this six-sheet shredder from Staples could be the answer for you. It is free with the purchase of a case of paper - everyone uses paper. These are some of the items that should be shredded:
- Credit card statements, they almost always have your name, address, and credit card number printed out.
- Credit card “cash advance” checks. These are incredibly easy to cash, don’t let them out of the house!
- Credit card offers. It is surprising the amount of sensitive information that can be on a pre-screened offer.
- Bank statements - many checking statements have your account number and routing number.
- Credit reports - if you print them out.
- Expired charge cards
- Insurance forms
I have an 8-sheet shredder that is not very heavy-duty, but I have gotten by with it for a while. I hope to upgrade to something a little stronger soon. A shredder could save you a lot of trouble in the future.
I get 3% cash back with my Chase Freedom Card. To date, I have earned $78 in four months. If I wait until I earn $200 to cash out, Chase will tack on an extra $50 bucks. How much does your card earn for you?
