Ice Cream and Vacations
by Rocket FinanceNote: This is a repost from my old blogspot rocket finance, slightly edited and updated:
I am always looking for cheap ways to entertain my little family. I have made several posts on this topic in the past. We are taking another little weekend trip this week. I will let you know how it goes.
We also like Dairy Queen ice cream, but usually it is too expensive for our budget. If we purchased a small Blizzard for everyone in the family, we would be out over $10 – and the six month old can’t eat ice cream yet.
We recently discovered the Blizzard Fan Club and it works out great for us. They send 2 for 1 coupons several times a year to club members and then there is also a code on the bottom of each cup that can be entered on the Blizzard site for additional 2 for 1 deals. Here is what we do: We purchase one Blizzard, get the second free and then get two additional empty cups for the kids and split the Blizzards. More than enough premium ice cream for our family for about $2.50.
The only difficulty is getting two people to decide on the same flavor.
